Latar belakang dan tujuan: Ingin berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan nasional, khususnya propinsi DI Aceh, merupakan latar belakang berdirinya lembaga pada 11 Oktober 1990. Yayasan ini berusaha meningkatkan kualitas hidup manusia dan kelompok masyarakat lewat kerja sama yang dinamis, dengan mendorong dan mengembangkan sumber daya manusia dan alam sekitarnya sehingga terwujud masyarakat mandiri, aman, adil makmur. |
Background and purpose: Wishing to participate in national development, especially in the Aceh province, is the background of the founding of this institution. Established on October 11, 1990, this foundation attempts to improve the quality of human as well as community’s life through a dynamic cooperation, by encouraging and developing human and natural resources so that a self-supporting, secure, fair and prosperous community can be achieved.
Area and form of activities: The main activities of this foundation are agriculture, clean water and sanitation, women in development, environment, human rights, childcare and as its supporting activities are small business and cooperative and research. The forms of those activities are education and training, community development and assistance, advocacy, seminar, discussion, workshop along with studies, research and surveys.
Program: Since its establishment until 1998 they have conducted various programs such as, research and development, plantation empowerment program, clean water program and sanitation, training for farmers, monitoring and developing organic farmers, programs for women (including the empowerment of widow-women in North Aceh), empowerment of organic farmers, scholarships for the orphans as the victims of Military Operational Area and son on.
Funding sources: Membership fee and donation from members, government subsidies (Department of Transmigration, Department of Cooperative, Department of Agriculture, Regional Agency for Development Plan), international institutions (Bevalt BV, Disop, NOVIB, DAP, Bevlat/Disop), and domestic non-governmental agencies (businessmen, group of people, individuals, and Coffee Farmers Community), and the income resulting from the cooperation with other parties are the sources of fund of this institution, besides financial aid from R.I.M. Mekkah.
Membership and working area: At regional level this foundation joins the YES South Sumatra, Konsep Aceh, NGOs Forum Aceh, Walhi Aceh. At national level it joins Walhi, FUKAM, MEI. This foundation works in the areas such as Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, North Aceh, Pidie and Central Aceh.
Staff: This foundation has 6 full-time and 6 part-time staffs. Three of them are considered professionals and the three others are administrative staffs.
