Latar belakang dan tujuan: Terabaikannya kebutuhan kesehatan reproduksi, demikian juga dengan minimnya fasilitas pelayanan dan tenaga terampil untuk itu melatarbelakangi berdirinya Yayasan Sehati (Y-SEHATI). Maksud dan tujuan yayasan yang berdiri pada 28 Januari 1997 ini adalah untuk membantu program pembangunan mewujudkan cita-cita masyarakat adil makmur, khususnya peningkatan kesejahteraan dan kesehatan melalui pelayanan terhadap kaum wanita. Bidang dan bentuk kegiatan: Bidang kegiatan utama yayasan ini adalah kesehatan, gender, kependudukan dan keluarga berencana, wanita dalam pembangunan, hak asasi manusia, dan anak. Sedangkan bentuk kegiatannya adalah studi, serta pelayanan kesehatan reproduksi wanita. Pengembangan masyarakat, penerbitan, dan advokasi merupakan kegiatan penunjang. Program: Yayasan ini telah melakukan berbagai program, di antaranya membuat mobil klinik keliling kesehatan wanita, studi penyakit menular seksual, membantu pemeriksaan papsmear wanita pedesaan dan pencegahan penyakit menular seksual dan HIV/AIDS melalui kesehatan reproduksi perempuan. Publikasi: Menerbitkan beberapa buku tentang kesehatan reproduksi wanita, buletin SEHATI, dan sejumlah publikasi hasil penelitian seputar Reproduksi Kesehatan di Bali. Sumber dana: Sumber dana yayasan ini diperoleh dari sumbangan anggota, kemudian hibah dari lembaga internasional seperti Rotary Foundation Evansten, Rotary Club of Hiroshima/Yamaguchi, The Global Fund for Women, dan dari badan atau lembaga-lembaga dalam negeri non pemerintah misalnya Population Council Jakarta, Bali International Women Association, American Women Association, The Indonesia HIV/AIDS and STD’s Prevention and Care Project (AusAID). Keanggotaan dan wilayah kerja: Dalam lingkup regional, masuk dalam Forum Lembaga Peduli AIDS di Bali. Sementara di tingkat nasional masuk dalam Jaringan Pusat Komunikasi Kesehatan Berperspektif Gender. Wilayah kerjanya meliputi 8 kabupaten di Propinsi Bali. Staf: Memiliki 8 staf tetap dan 2 orang staf tidak tetap, dengan 7 staf profesional dan 3 staf administrasi. |
Background and purpose: The background of the establishment of Y-SEHATI was the lack of attention and facilities to provide the people with reproductive health services. The purpose of the foundation, which was founded on 28 January 1997, is take a part in carrying out government development programs to materialize national ideals, namely a just and prosperous society, particularly improvement of people’s welfare and health through the services for women.
Area and form of activities: Health care, gender, and population and family planning are Y-SEHATI’s main fields of activity, supported by women in development, human rights, and children. The forms of their activities are study, and services for woman’s reproductive health. Community development, publication and advocacy are supporting fields of activity.
Program:Y-SEHATI has implemented various programs such as provision of mobile cars for the health service for women, studies on sexually transmitted diseases, papsmear check-up for women in rural villages, and the prevention of sexual diseases and HIV/AIDS through the services for women’s reproductive health.
Publication: Y-SEHATI publishes books about woman’s reproductive health care, SEHATI bulletin, and the results of research on reproductive health in Bali.
Funding sources: The foundation’s revenues come from donations from its members, grants from international agencies like Rotary Foundation Evansten, Rotary Club of Hiroshima/Yamaguchi, The Global Fund for Women, and assistance from domestic non-governmental organizations like Population Council Jakarta, Bali International Women Association, American Women Association, The Indonesia HIV/AIDS and STD’s Prevention and Care Project (AusAID).
Membership and working area: At the regional level, Y-SEHATI is a member of the Forum Lembaga Peduli AIDS in Bali. A national level, it is associated with the Network of Centers for Health Care Communication with Gender Perspectives. Y-SEHATI operates in 8 regencies in Bali.
Staff: Y-SEHATI has 8 full-time and 2 part-time staff members, consisting of 7 professionals and 3 administrative workers.
