Latar belakang dan tujuan: Lembaga ini didirikan pada 5 Maret 1988 oleh sekelompok pemuda yang menaruh perhatian terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat yang sebagian besar belum layak. Tujuannya adalah mengembangkan partisipasi masyarakat, meningkatkan kemampuan swadaya masyarakat, mendorong produktivitas tenaga kerja, mendorong pembangunan nasional, dan memberikan masukan kepada pemerintah dalam menyusun kebijaksanaan yang berorientasi pada kesejahteraan masyarakat. Program: Program-program yang pernah dilakukan di antaranya proyek PHBK- Bank Indonesia, perbaikan kampung, penelusuran input dalam pengentasan kemiskinan, studi profil rumah sewa, studi dampak penggusuran, lokakarya pengembangan masyarakat di kampung kumuh, pelatihan LSM untuk manajemen perkotaan, dan sebagainya. Publikasi: Menerbitkan beberapa judul buku dan News Letter LPPSE Information Network (bulanan). Sumber dana: Selain iuran dan sumbangan anggota, juga mendapat bantuan dari Bank Indonesia, PT Artama-LP3ES, IFAD, UN-ESCAP, UNDP-URDI, UNDP-PPISP, GTZ, LPM SDM Muhammadiyah dan BMS, ACHR, CIDA, OXFAM, dan Pemerintah Belanda. Keanggotaan dan wilayah kerja: Lembaga ini merupakan anggota jaringan AKPPI, BK3, PDF, Forum LSM untuk PHBK BI, FPPK, FORMASI, YAPPIKA, APRACA, CASHPOR, Micro Summit, ACHR, dan IBFAN. Wilayah kerjanya adalah Aceh, Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Barat, Sumatera Selatan, Riau, Lampung, Jawa Barat, DKI Jakarta, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Bali, Kalimantan Barat, Kalimantan Selatan, Kalimantan Timur, Kalimantan Selatan, dan NTB. Staf: Lembaga ini dikelola oleh 12 staf tetap, 22 staf tidak tetap, 10 staf profesional, dan 2 staf administrasi. | Background and purpose: LPPSE was founded on 5 March 1988 by a group of young people who were concerned about the poor social and economic condition of the people. The purposes of the organization are develop people’s participation, increase the community’s self-reliance, increase the productivity of laborers, push forward national development, and give an input to the government for the designing of policies which are oriented to the welfare of the community. Program: The programs implemented by LPPSE included Bank Indonesia’s PHBK project, kampong renovation, digging out input for the alleviation of poverty, the study about the profile of rented houses, the study about the impacts of evicting people from their land, workshop on the development of communities in slum areas, urban management training for NGOs, and so on. Publication: The organization published a number of documentary books and a monthly newsletter, LPPSE Information Network. Funding sources: In addition the dues and contributions from its members, LPPSE gets assistance funds from Bank Indonesia, PT Artama-LP3ES, IFAD, UN-ESCAP, UNDP-URDI, UNDP-PPISP, GTZ, LPM SDM Muhammadiyah and BMS, CIDA, OXFAM, and the Dutch government. Membership and working area: LPPSE is a member of a number networks namely AKPPI, BK3, PDF, NGO Forum for PHBK BI, FORMASI, YAPIKKA, APRACA, CASHPOR, Micro Summit, ACHR, and IBFAN. It operates in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, West Java, Jakarta City, Bali, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and NTB. Staff: To date, 12 full-time and 22 part-time staff members run LPPSE, including 10 professional and 2 administration workers. |
