Latar belakang dan tujuan: Berdirinya Yayasan Pengembangan Keterampilan dan Mutu Kehidupan Nusantara (Yayasan PKMK Nusantara) pada 27 Mei 1982 didasari oleh adanya keinginan untuk berusaha ikut berpartisipasi mengisi pembangunan serta turut mengambil bagian dalam usaha meningkatkan potensi sumber daya manusia. Tujuannya adalah membantu mempertinggi keterampilan praktis masyarakat terutama masyarakat golongan ekonomi lemah, dan menyediakan tenaga-tenaga terampil, baik untuk kegiatan-kegiatan pembangunan yang dilaksanakan pemerintah maupun swasta. Program: Salah satu program yang pernah dilakukan lembaga ini adalah penanaman pohon aren dan pelestarian ayam Kedu di Temanggung. Publikasi: Menerbitkan buletin untuk media komunikasi interen Yayasan PKMK Nusantara. Sumber dana: Selain iuran dan sumbangan anggota, sumber dana lembaga ini adalah dari UNDP dan Yayasan KEHATI. Keanggotaan dan wilayah kerja: Lembaga ini merupakan anggota Participatory Development Forum. Wilayah kerjanya mencakup DKI Jakarta, Temanggung, dan Bogor. Staf: Lembaga ini memiliki 86 staf tetap dan 65 staf tidak tetap, dengan 87 staf profesional dan 51 staf administrasi. |
Background and purpose: Yayasan PKMK Nusantara was founded on 27 May 1982 based on the desire to take part in development with the aim to improve the potentials of human resources. The purposes of the foundation are help increase people’s practical skills, particularly the skills of the economically weak people; and create skilled workers for development undertakings initiated by the government and the private sector.
Area and form of activities: PKMK’s main fields of activity are environment, informal sector, labor, and education. Meanwhile, its supporting fields of activity are general agriculture, small enterprises/cooperatives, human rights and cattle breeding. Activities in those fields take the forms of study, research, survey, education and training, seminar, community development, advocacy and credit provision.
Program: Among the programs carried out by the foundation were the planting of sugar palm trees and chicken raising in Kedu and Temanggung.
Publication: PKMK publishes a bulletin for its internal communication.
Funding sources: Aside from the dues and donations from its members, the foundation also gets assistance from UNDP and KEHATI Foundation.
Membership and working area: PKMK is a member of Participatory Development Forum. It operates in DKI Jakarta, Temanggung and Bogor.
Staff: The organization’s staff is comprised of 86 full-time and 65 part-time workers. They include 87 professional and 51 administration staff members.
