Latar belakang dan tujuan: Yayasan Pengembangan Usaha Mandiri --disingkat SAMBANGDIRI-- yang lahir pada 19 September 1986 bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan, mengembangkan serta menggairahkan kemandirian dengan mengusahakan segala aktivitas yang dibutuhkan masyarakat. Program: Program-program yang pernah dilakukan antara lain, pembinaan dan pengembangan lebah madu, meningkatkan budidaya teknologi lebah madu, peningkatan pendapatan wanita dan petani serta pengembangannya, membuat percontohan budidaya lebah madu. Publikasi: Menerbitkan buletin Sambangdiri. Sumber dana: Sumber dana lembaga ini antara lain dari BNI 46, USAID, CIDA-Canada, OXFAM, Kedutaan Selandia Baru, AusAIDS, dan kerja sama dengan Badan Pengembangan Wallacea. Keanggotaan dan wilayah kerja: Lembaga ini merupakan anggota Asosiasi Perlebahan Indonesia, Partnership in Development Forum (PDF), International Bee Research Association (IBRA), dan International in Overseas Cooperative Assistance. Wilayah kerjanya tersebar di berbagai kota: Sukabumi, Condet, Jepara, Sragen, Pasuruan, Ngawi, Dompu, Sumbawa, Lampung, dan Desa Turout (Sulawesi Utara). Staf: Lembaga ini memiliki 6 staf tetap, 2 staf tidak tetap, 2 staf profesional, dan 2 staf administrasi. |
Background and purpose: Yayasan Pengembangan Usaha Mandiri (SAMBANGDIRI) was founded on 19 September 1986. Its purpose is promote, develop and stimulate self-reliance by introducing any activities needed by the people.
Area and form of activities: The foundation’s main fields of activity are agriculture, clean water and sanitation, women in development, small enterprises, cattle breeding, and marine development & fishery. Meanwhile, supporting fields of activity are healthcare, gender, environment, informal sector and community forest. Activities in those fields take the forms of education and training, community development and facilitation, study, research, survey and seminar.
Program: The programs carried out by SAMBANGDIRI included the cultivation and development of honey bees, the improvement of the technology of honey bee cultivation, the increasing of women’s and farmers’ income, and trial projects of honey beef cultivation.
Publication: SAMBANGDIRI publishes Sambangdiri bulletin.
Funding sources: The foundation’s sources of fund include assistance funds from BNI 46, USAID, CIDA-Canada, OXFAM, New Zealand Embassy, AusAID, and the Agency of Wallacea Development.
Membership and working area: SAMBANGDIRI is a member of Association of Indonesian Bee Businesses, Partnership in Development Forum (PDF), International Bee Research Association (IBRA) and International in Overseas Cooperative Assistance. The foundation operates in different areas like Sukabumi, Conder, Jepara, Sragen, Pasuruan, Ngawi, Dompu, Sumbawa, Lampung and North Sulawesi.
