Latar belakang dan tujuan: Pusat Kajian Agama dan Budaya
Bidang dan bentuk kegiatan: Bidang kegiatan utama lembaga ini adalah kajian agama dan budaya, yang didukung bidang kegiatan gender, hak asasi manusia, dan demokrasi. Bidang-bidang ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk studi, penelitian, survai, seminar, diskusi, lokakarya, pendidikan dan pelatihan, serta penerbitan dan publikasi. Publikasi: Menerbitkan buletin agama dan kebudayaan KENDI, dan akan menerbitkan buku Keadilan Gender, Islam dan Demokrasi. Sumber dana: Lembaga ini mengandalkan sumber dana dari iuran dan sumbangan anggotanya. Keanggotaan dan wilayah kerja: Secara regional, lembaga ini merupakan jaringan Lembaga Studi Agama dan Demokrasi (eLSAD) Surabaya. Wilayah kerjanya adalah Jawa Timur, khususnya Malang. Staf: Lembaga ini memiliki 8 staf tetap, 6 staf tidak tetap, 3 staf profesional, dan 2 staf administrasi. |
Background and purpose: Pusat Kajian Agama dan Budaya Salsabila was founded on 1 July 1998 in response to the absence of non-government organizations which dealt with religious and cultural matters’ and also because the majority of university students and intellectuals were less interested in religious and cultural studies, notably in the city of Malang.
Area and form of activities: The institute’s main field of activity is religious and cultural studies, which is supported by other fields namely gender, human rights, and democracy. Activities in all these fields are carried out in the forms of study, research, survey, seminar, discussion, workshop, education and training, and publication.
Program: The institute has implemented, is implementing, and will implement programs namely the publication of books (short-term), and training on Islamic thinking and workshops on cultural matters.
Publication: Salsabila publishes KENDI bulletin, and is about to publish two books, Keadilan Gender (Gender Justice) and Islam dan Demokrasi (Islam and Democracy).
Funding sources: In carrying out its activities, the organization relies on the funds coming its membership dues and donations.
Membership and working area: At the regional level, Salsabila is a member of the Network for Religious and Democracy Studies (Elsa). It operates in East Java, particularly in Malang.
Staff: To date, the institute has 8 full-time and 6 part-time staff members, who include 3 professional and 2 administration workers
